Man, that was an ugly one. Apart from some pushback through the first half or so of the second period, the mediocre Canes were the better team.
Only not when McDavid on the ice, who basically tilted the ice whenever he was on. The rest of the lines were pretty much useless though. The rink maps and the rest kind of highlight how extreme that was. The defense pairs were actually decent in that we’d call it a good defensive effort if not for the anemic attack. Basically, the Oilers played New Jersey Devils hockey tonight.
It’s way too early to panic, and don’t forget this was the third game in four nights .. but after three straight losses, I will say that Lucic, Nuge, Eberle, and Pouliot (in that order) need to get their sh*t together, or the playoffs – which should be a virtual lock at this point – will suddenly be at risk again.
