G63 2016-02-26 Oilers at Duhcks – shot and distance data

Game Notes ANA vs EDM

Edmonton Oilers (Head Coach: Todd McLellan) at Anaheim Ducks (Head Coach: Bruce Boudreau)

NHL Game #919, Honda Center, 2016-02-26 08:00:00PM (GMT -0700)

Ducks 2-1 (OT)

Referees: Chris Rooney, Ian Walsh
Linesmen: Vaughan Rody, Kiel Murchison

Three Stars: Rickard Rakell; Cam Fowler; Cam Talbot

  • Moral victory!
  • Solid effort against a bigger, older, better, fresher team on the road.
  • Drai will still be looking for his undies next week after that Rakell OT goal.
  • I thought Sekera and Davidson had terrific games. Nurse and Clendening got torched.
  • I had hoped to see better things from Clendening but hey … I still think he’s more effective defensively than Jultz.

Game at a Glance

Another game where a big California team maxes out my DangerousFenwick gameflow chart.

Defense Pairings WOWY

Each pairing (>2:00 EVTOI) is shown, along with how the individuals on that pairing did without each other on the ice. The axes show DangerousFenwick rates for and against. Note the reversed DFA axis. This lets the chart read naturally, where bottom left is bad and top right is good. The dotted line shows the breakeven line.
