G15 2015-11-08 Oilers at Hawks – shot and distance data

Commentary
  • When the Oilers learn to play hard from the first whistle, maybe they’ll win a few more of these types of games.
  • No, that second period was not score effects.  After two periods, the Score Adjusted Corsi was 57%.  Score then and maybe it’s a different game.
  • Better goaltending and that was a winnable game.
  • Reffing.  FFS. It’s embarrassing.  Makes the game hard to watch.

Distance of Unblocked Shots Allowed

New data display – showing the average distance of shot allowed and average ‘danger rating’ and Danger Fenwick rate per 60 for the defensemen and defensive pairings.

Sekera looked worse by eye than by DFA/60.  Then again, he was paired with Nurse who was excellent.  Fayne … not so good.

I dropped pairings with less than 2:00 min TOI, but these are what cause the difference between the individuals and the main pairings.
